BMW X6 E71 335D Stage 1 Remap Mablethorpe
At DB Vehicle Electrics, we recently had the pleasure of working on a 2009 BMW X6 E71 335d, a powerful SUV that already boasts an impressive balance of performance and refinement. Equipped with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, the 335d is known for its torque-rich delivery and effortless acceleration. However, like many factory-tuned vehicles, there’s always hidden potential waiting to be unlocked. After applying our expert ECU remap, we successfully gained an extra 54bhp and 100Nm of torque, transforming the driving experience and making this already capable machine even more exciting on the road.
The remap process involved optimising the fuel injection timing, boost pressure, and torque delivery, ensuring a smoother power curve and improved throttle response. With the extra power, the X6 335d now accelerates more effortlessly, delivering sharper performance throughout the rev range. It’s important to note that when remapping any high-performance diesel engine, the engine, turbochargers, and gearbox must be in good health to handle the additional power safely. Before the remap, we conducted a diagnostic health check, ensuring there were no underlying fault codes / issues that could be exacerbated by the increased performance. The BMW’s ZF 6-speed automatic gearbox is known for its durability, but regular servicing and fluid changes are essential to maintain reliability, especially after a performance upgrade.
