Ford Transit MK8 fitted with the replacement high security drivers door lock. This also featured a bezel which sits around the new stainless steel cylinder, the idea behind the bezel is to stop mole grip attacks to the cylinder. Thieves break into these vehicles by getting hold of the drivers door lock with a pair of mole grips and twist the lock to the left side. This in turn unlocks the vehicles doors including the load area, if the vehicle is a 2018 model onwards it more than likely has the latest Ford update which stops the rear of the vehicle unlocking. However this doesn’t stop the vehicle being attacked / damaged.
These locks are very difficult to remove if they have been attacked, it damages the original pin which locates within the lock housing to secure it.
